Basically, what had happened here was that this cat already knew that she you belonged to her, and that means that every single thing that you own belongs to her too. She simply staked her claim of you by eating your (i.e. her own) food. The fact that you only realized this fact after taking her home is your own fault. She already knew, and she was making the best out of the situation at hand. And now, you will spend the rest of her life buying her all the food that she will ever want, and we think that is pretty pawsome.

Oh, you say that, but you don't mean it. Getting headbutted is the biggest, most beautiful expression of love that cats share with us, and it is one of the best things about being a cat owner. We know you are joking, because you must be. But just in case you are not, we are going to tell you right meow that you have to get it together and be thankful for each and every headbutt that this beautiful creature blesses you with. And also get videos of it. And send them to us. Videos like that are one of our favorite things in the whole world.

Stray cat jumps into woman's car, eats her Dairy Queen, demands to be taken home and gets adopted: 'This is my car. This is not my cat.'
When we say that cats are the ones who adopt humans and not the other way around, we mean that.
One thing that we have learned over our time writing content like this, is that cats can adopt you anywhere and at any time. You could go be adopted by a cat during a midnight picnic, having the cat simply sit with you and then follow you home. You could be handed a kitten at a Starbucks drivethrough and have to leave for home early because there's an itty bitty kitty in your pocket. You could have a cat fly through the window and directly into your lap, and just like that, out of nowhere, you will have to go out and get a bunch of cat supplies.
Really, a cat jumping into your cat and eating your Dairy Queen is not the most surprising way that we have seen a cat adopt someone, but we understand why this person found it baffling anyway. Unlike us, they don't write stories like these on a daily basis. But you know what, despite the fact that, in some ways, this doesn't surprise us, we do think that if this had happened to us, we would have been outraged. Not our Dairy Queen!!
